Luxurious, yet laid-back; elegant, yet casual; refined, yet effortless: Tara and Eric’s wedding at Kloc’s Grove had a sprinkle of everything, combining their two individual tastes into a seamless blend representative of their partnership. If you and your partner love to go hiking in the mountains with your dog but also love a good spa day, then you’re going to relate so much to Tara and Eric’s vision for their day! Kloc’s Grove was the perfect venue to host their celebration, with a wide array of spaces to choose from including gardens, pavilions, and even a grand ballroom—but I’ll save my raving about this venue for a little later 😉

Tara + Eric’s Romantic Wedding at Kloc’s Grove
A vibrant fall day in Buffalo, NY
You never quite know what you’re going to get on a fall day in New York: one day may be rainy, gray, and gloomy, and the next the skies are clear, blue, and sunny. Tara and Eric were fortunate enough to get an absolutely beautiful autumn day in Buffalo, with just enough sun peeking through the trees to keep everyone warm and allow for absolutely GORGEOUS photos around Kloc’s Grove. I seriously can’t tell you how breathtaking this venue is with its seemingly never ending greenery, especially when combined with the vibrant fall color palette Tara and Eric chose: those rich, fall tones were to DIE for! Deep red, rust orange, rich burgundy, and brighter pops of pink + yellow. . . a photographer’s dream.

The vision: intentional, present, and effortless
It was really important to Tara and Eric that their wedding not only be beautiful and elegant, of course, but that it was chill, and effortless for everyone involved. Yes, they wanted luxury, but they also wanted ease; they wanted the intricate decor and opulent reception, but they also wanted moments to grab a drink and kick back with their loved ones. It was obvious to me as soon as I showed up to the venue how much effort Tara and Eric put into creating a day that represented them and their relationship, both outdoorsy and luxurious, lavish and laid-back!
One of the ways they made sure to prioritize presence and time with their guests was by taking as many wedding party photos as we could before the ceremony. We took bridesmaid photos at Tara’s getting ready location, and the guys took photos at the venue before everyone arrived. Splitting wedding party photos like this ahead of the ceremony made it super simple to just do the large group photos with everyone right after the ceremony, and made it as EASY as possible to knock out all the most important shots! Tara and Eric wanted to make sure we had cushion time to do this in the morning before needing to arrive at the venue for the ceremony, so we intentionally built extra time into their timeline.
The best part about having only family photos + the large wedding party photos to do after the ceremony was that it gave us so much more time for newlywed photos! They LOVED having this quiet time away together for photos to soak in being married and be away from their guests for a little while; they were able to be fully present, totally in the moment, and it resulted in the most romantic photos. We even snuck away again during dinner for a few more sunset photos 😉

A breathtaking day surrounded by loved ones
From those first few quiet moments getting ready with their friends, all the way to the final song on the dance floor (they stayed out there the WHOLE time with all their guests!), Tara and Eric soaked up every single minute of their wedding day. It was such a pleasure to be around them and the people they love as they celebrated a milestone that was a long-time coming, and what had been highly anticipated ever since Eric proposed at the beautiful Arrowhead Spring Vineyards. Their first dance was to the song “Until I Found You” by Stephen Sanchez; the perfect end to a romantic day full of lifelong promises and unforgettable memories.
